Ingredients

  • 8 medium (about 320 g) Ambient tortillas
  • 2 × 400 g tins (about 480 g drained) Black beans
  • 200 g, one pack Shelf-stable cheese sauce
  • 150 g in small packs Salsa
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Method

01Mash the beans roughly with the cumin and salsa. Warm with the cheese sauce in a BBQ-safe pan according to the sauce instructions until steaming throughout.
02Spread the filling over half of each tortilla, fold shut and brush the outside lightly with oil.
03Grill over moderate direct heat for around 1 to 2 minutes per side, watching continuously. Use a cooler area if browning too fast; serve as each is ready.
The useful trick
Heat the filling first. The grill then only has to toast the wrap, so the outside is less likely to burn before the centre is hot.

Options and swaps

Safely chilled grated cheese can replace the sauce when refrigeration is available. For dairy-free, omit the cheese sauce and add 2 tbsp oil to the beans.

Allergens and storage

Allergens: Wheat and milk; check the salsa and cheese sauce labels.

Storage: Serve promptly. Keep perishable leftovers only with dependable chilling.
